How Much Do Enterprise Architects Make?

        posted by , September 27, 2011

For months the top search query on Simplicable has been "how much do enterprise architects make?". It's interesting because we don't answer this question. So, in the interest of satisfying demand, here we go:

Pay Scale for Enterprise Architects

Many Enterprise Architects are at the same level as a IT Manager or Director. EAs are seldom considered technical staff. They are paid in line with IT Management.

Chief Architects are generally considered executive management. Some Chief Architects are CxO level — but most are at the managing director or director level.

Pay varies greatly by location, industry and organization.
